The Reverend Flower A. Newhouse has said that the two best known incarnations of the Lord Christ were those of King David and the Egyptian ruler, Akhenaten. As Akhenaten He revealed unusual courage and one-pointedness in His religious approach to God. In other incarnations He must have gradually caught the vision of the perfect man which enabled Him to become earth's Hierarch Christ.

The Life of Akhenaten

Akhenaten was an ancient Pharaoh of Egypt who is believed to have reigned from 1352 B.C. to 1335 B.C. He is most noted for leaving the traditional thought of Egyptian belief in many gods to worship centered on the Aten—a belief in one God. An early inscription likens the Aten to the sun as compared to stars—a living Deity above mere gods. This was a radical departure from centuries of Egyptian religious practice.

This pharaoh, the greatest of the Egyptian rulers, was about to announce the revelation of one God, absolute, supreme, and the solitary Creator of heaven and earth. In the same year he took as his wife the beautiful Nefertiti, his constant companion since childhood, and together they would write a unique chapter in Egyptian history.
