Types of Prayer
Coming Before the Presence
Through prayer we express our faith's reach towards God's completeness, toward giving us strength and wisdom for the achievement of that which is required. The more we pray the more convinced we are that our resources are infinite and that it is up to us to widen the cup of our asking without pride, to be conscious of the infilling we need.Flower A. Prayer is one of your best opportunities to commune with God and is the most important aspect of consciousness. Anything that is a need is a legitimate prayer. When you come to a need that is beyond your knowledge or ability to deal with, turn it over to God. Other times we just want to lift our love for God in a moment of praise or gratitude.

Flower introduces us to many different kinds of prayers. Here are a few:
Prayers of Glorification
In prayers of glorification, the Eternal Spirit receives a person's joyful, loving adoration. This type of prayer is not typically spoken. It is expressed from the heart. Chants, Psalms (of joy) and mantras belong to this group.
Were we to persist in observing God's glorious works and blessings throughout the hours, days, and years of our lives, not only would our characters undergo a transcendent change, but we would then experience no need for voicing a prayer of request.Flower A. Newhouse, Occult Keys to Effective Prayer
