Charles-Francois Gounod, 1818-1893

In Concert

Charles Gounod in 1859, the year of the premiere of Faust.

Charles-Francois Gounod was born in Paris on June 17, 1818. Gounard was a French composer, best known for his Ave Maria, based on a work by Bach, as well as his opera Faust.

Flower has said that Charles Gounod, who incarnated from the Deva line, wrote music with the most glorious effects inwardly. His "Sanctus" is at the level of the Causal World, sending forth rose tones blending into exquisite shades of pink. Encompassing the whole is an orchid curtain intermingling with white camellia-like flowers engendered by this theme.
