Summer Pilgrimage (2 of 3): The Soul
005-1 Saturday 06/26/1954
The soul that is active in us is dwelling in a wonderful world, a causal world of Light, a world of power and beauty and creativity such as we know nothing about in this dimension. In this second of three talks given during a Summer Pilgrimage Retreat focused on spiritual awareness, Flower describes the soul world, the soul's different faculties, and how it appears in our auras. She clarifies common misconceptions about the soul, describes lost souls, and speaks about the symbology in fairy tales.
Toward the Development of Creativity
017-1 Sunday 01/23/1955
We need to have more of the realization of the creativity powers which are inherent within us. The soul is the source of inspired ideas, in tune with the causal world - the reservoir of God's light, God¹s information, all the archetypes of the future and past.
The Soul and Its Creative Powers
026-1 Sunday 02/06/1955
Reverend Flower A. Newhouse gives a presentation on the nature of the Soul and its powers and the means of reaching them. Talk given in Los Angeles.
The Meaning and Right Uses of Causal Realities (4 of 5)
033-2 Sunday 10/23/1955
Flower provides rare glimpses into the soul. Example of Dr. Maurice Nicole and long quote from his book Living Time. The soul is the 'I' of us which is our character and is dormant until exercised. Our souls counsel us and we receive revelations or understanding. Description of the soul as it appears in the aura and its faculty to perceive, generate and redeem.
The Grace of Thanksgiving
035-2 Sunday 11/20/1955
Inwardly and clairvoyantly, gratitude is seen as a vapor, orchid in color, a beautiful light lavender shade; it's fragrant. Intended to be grateful for our blessings which come to us by grace. Need to be ready for seeing the good of tests while they are here. Gratitude does not come until the soul is awake in us.
Our Soul Is Enlivened by Thought Word Deed and Effort
071-2 Sunday 07/28/1957
The Reverend Flower A. Newhouse talks about prayer, love, faith, idealism, symbolism, and love of nature in striving to live in such a manner that more and more our consciousness and life is diffused by the soulic potentials and qualities and powers. (Incomplete Recording)
Another Consideration of Man's Continuity
085-1 Sunday 03/16/1958
Flower talks about the teachings of rebirth (continuity of the soul), the great souls that believed in it and why it is a true teaching.
Spiritual Discipleship (6 of 9)
092-2 Sunday 07/20/1958
We don't need to postpone our eternity because our eternity is now, and the soul, which has never left its threshold, can bring about the experience of Divine nowness if we cause the mind, emotions, energies, and physical form to be creatively subservient to that Holy One within each one.
Duty's Great Purpose
117-1 Sunday 09/13/1959
Flower Newhouse teaches us the importance of living a purposeful, dedicated Christ-consecrated life. We have a karmic duty to our parents, our children, our sisters and brothers, our husbands or wives, our friends, our spiritual family and a duty to God for the upliftment of mankind. If we fail to give service in these relationships, our penalties are compounded with interest and we will face a lack of caring similar to what we inflict on others. Our tendency is to rejoice in some relationships and evade others, but dharma, the principle of right selection, is the law for the evolving soul. When we grow in spiritual stature and understand duty we can no longer fail.
The Reality of the Christ Hierarchy
121-1 Sunday 12/13/1959
Emmanuel means God with us and it refers to the spiritual title given to this soul who also bore the name of Jesus when he became spiritually of age and took upon Himself the mantle of the Christ. We should call Him by the spiritual title. Our Lord was human, but He more quickly had the power of excellence, that supreme ability to surrender himself, and to give himself to that which is higher than anyone else that has evolved through the earth. There are many perfected souls; that option is open to all, and all are evolving toward it. Before the Lord Emmanuel, the Lord Maitreya was the Christ of our planet. Our Lord is the supreme officiant of humanity. Reading of Flower's favorite excerpts from the Gospel According to Thomas. Past lives of Jesus as Joshua, David, and Ikhnaton. Jesus as Lord and Master.
Postscript to Christmas
121-2 Sunday 12/27/1959
Christmas is such a high planetary experience. It is a perpetual baptism of spirit. Christmas can only be celebrated from the soul. We should deeply consider taking a part of our work for the new year, the promise to love spiritually, think spiritually, and will spiritually. Christmas is aligned to these powers and reflections of spirit. We want only that love which is spiritual. Love which is emotional is prideful, exclusive, it is critical, it is selfish. This day is what the Christ spirit needs to have as outposts of its consciousness. If we become instruments of its force, we may be sure that the power will flow through if we have the instrument ready. Gifts should be given all year, not just at Christmas. Describes a trip to Allentown where she met cousins. Describes the use of a strong archtypal word to help us through an ordeal.
The Way of Holiness
126-1 Sunday 03/06/1960
All of us must find oasis, a holy island, in our calendar and in our ongoing through the years, Lent is one of the finest of them. It is a time when outer distractions are deliberately put aside when the highest in us tells us the trivialities and pretenses and expectations and worldliness and all the things that are a part of the unregenerate life need to be set distinctly apart; way outside the territory of our given attention for we in this new period are wholly concentrating upon the reason for our incarnation That is the meaning behind Lent. One great soul the greatest that this humanity has produced, the Lord Christ, showed us how to live. The more we grow the more we see the greater our Lord is. And we appreciate in this holy island, this time of apartness from outer living, periods for drawing upon His matchless courage, His tremendous life, His great and inexhaustible spirituality.
The Heart's Symbolic Function
174-2 Sunday 02/11/1962
Flower states that by being more awakened to the superphysical aspects of the heart we may come into greater control of this wondrous center. Some individuals experience heart awakenings during their lifetime, and some are born with their heart centers already functioning. Describes the heart chakra from physical and superphysical standpoints, including the heart center on astral, mental and soul levels. Explains that it is important as we progress in our Christian experience that we love others as well as those souls in the inner kingdoms, and in doing so our hearts shall be lifted. As ones heart is lifted upward, the hearts spiritual counterparts on each level vibrate at higher and higher levels, creating greater color in every body, as well as size of heart center. Indicates that there are 714 references to the heart in the Bible, New and Old Testaments. Quotes several of these, and recommends anyone who experiences difficulty with their heart, to read and use them in their life.
Winter's Value to the Soul
180-1 Sunday 03/25/1962
Flower discusses symbolic meanings of the seasons and expands upon winter's lessons, both from an outer and an inner standpoint. Mentions Gladys Taber and Thoreau as naturalists who loved and learned much from winter. Describes winter's testings and challenges physically, psychologically and spiritually; indicates how we are to react to these from a spiritual viewpoint.
Seven Bodies (2 of 4): The Light Bodies - The Soul, Adonai and Monad
200-1 Sunday 09/23/1962
We need to remember that we are a seven-fold being, that there are great altitudes of consciousness in us which we require in our daily living and which will bless us and give us help and talent if we will remember to call upon them. Flower describes these higher bodies, the Soul, Adonai and Monad, which overshadow us and influence us when our other faculties of mind, feelings and energy are stilled with holy reverence and spiritualized living.
The Staff of the Illumined
221-2 Sunday 04/21/1963
Perfected souls came with powerful inspiration. Their words have been recorded down to our present day. They have a message for us which shall outlast this planet's lifetime. When we consider what a soul undergoes in the journey of evolution through this human way, we know that the human career begins at the stage of individualization. There is a long vast journey of growth and unfoldment, and then at last the first degree of initiation, or rebirth, is achieved. When this stage comes, man becomes a part of a larger order. He becomes a member of the Great White Brotherhood, and he serves no longer his own unfoldment, but the development of the world. Then there is a later stage, of the fifth initiation, when the human evolution ceases, and the superhuman evolution begins.
Seven Bodies (4 of 4): More Light Regarding the Soul
223-2 Sunday 05/19/1963
Preparation of chapel for service. The Soul is the Angel of Light within. The Monad is to the soul what the soul is to the outer body. The purpose of incarnation is to develop our souls. Our souls have the intellect of genius, they are interested in achieving preciseness, accuracy, purity and truth. Whenever we experience any of the sacraments we are under the focus of our souls. Description of activity of the soul during christening and baptism. Description of Devachan, also called Paradise, where we spend three-fourths of our time in the inner worlds. Experiences of St. John of the Cross.
The Necessary Cultivation of Tranquility
224-2 Sunday 06/02/1963
An inspiring talk for anyone striving for inner peace. At the kernel of every soul that lives in this dimension and in God's country is a center where God is, and all peace rests upon this center and man's abiding within it. To have peace we should really think of a sunburst as from within us, raying out its flashing points of light into all of our aura, and we should stand still in the mystery and the wonder of that flashing of the star of our God Self. And whenever we are inclined to be the most disturbed, we should stop and practice this attunement to the star of our inner being.
Effort without Ego
229-1 Sunday 08/11/1963
It is tragic that some people never achieve freedom from themselves. They are egocentric from their birth until death. They never know what it is to have something higher than themselves that takes over and channels them. And until this happens they are in a very sorry state. It is so necessary that a man awakens to the full degree and measure of soul consciousness. When he does this he is aware that though his human self is very human and there are parts of him which are limited, there are also aspects of himself which are intoned to intelligence, capability, wonder, excellence, beauty, power, and to God.
God Within and God Unfolded
234-1 Sunday 10/20/1963
Man is beginning to recognize that they are more than body and a spirit. We are a septenary or seven-fold being, and that because we are seven-fold, we have much to do in overcoming as well as raising and enhancing of these powers that belong to our inner nature. Describes the attributes of our lower quadrate (physical, etheric, astral, mental bodies) and higher triad (soul, adonai, monad), as well as the symbols, characteristics and terminology of our higher bodies. Descriptions of initiates and masters. Compares God inherent and potential with actualized and unfolded.
They Walked with God
235-1 Sunday 11/03/1963
Next to man's discovery of the truth of God comes the exampleship of great souls who have desired nothing so much but communion with the everlasting. We need the inspiration and the confirmations that these souls who are more advanced than ourselves have to give us. We need whatever the Saints have to say to us. We require their courage, their fortitude, their devotion. They can simplify the way of our own becoming because they are the prophecy of what we shall be ourselves one day. And therefore we should be most interested in every great soul that we learn about, for in his life and in his words and in his radiation we have something that is better than food for the body, because it is food for the soul.
Christmas is an Initiatory Reminder
268-1 Sunday 12/20/1964
Christmas is the spirit of Christ made manifest and visible to man, transforming our outer lives. It is a time to adore the living Christ, the model of our own becoming. Christmas is a reminder of the first degree of initiation. Describes traits of initiates. A reborn soul has, as his or her predominant quality, obedience to superior development and attainment, and to everything that is above one in God. Describes symbolism of Christmas star, manger, Bethlehem, tree, bells, carols.
Lessons That Have Been Impressed on Me
283-1 Sunday 06/27/1965
This talk shares the important lessons that Flower's soul taught her over and over throughout her life. She gives examples of how each of these lessons from the importance of living in the Now to conquering fear impacted her growth and her drawing closer to God.
In Everything Give Thanks
292-2 Sunday 11/21/1965
If we are grateful, we open spiritually. We are much more sensitive and responsive or receptive to the great glories that pour forth esoterically through the Christmas season. Thanksgiving is a period in which we recapitulate, reappraise and reexpress the many things for which we are grateful. It cleanses the feelings and makes them pure and God-aligned, and brings us into condition for enlightenment. Since our nation is the cradle of the new race, America is an archetype in its highest aspirations of those qualities which we all bless. On Thanksgiving day, we repeat the summarizing of that which our soul knows to have been good for us. The more we are grateful for shelter, for the joy of our loved family, for beauty, the more we appreciate those things, without being unduly attached to them, the more we will attract still more abundantly and ever better quality will come to us.
Seven Bodies (6 of 6): Your Invisible Self: The Soul
293-2 Sunday 12/12/1965
Flower says we have to make our Star-Self come into the center of our being and be centered in it, wherever we are. But this is the mightiest task that we could ever undertake. Only a Master is successful in living from the Divine which is within them.
Easter's Meaning for Us
303-1 Sunday 04/10/1966
The story of our Lord Christ is a continuing unfoldment. It is always glorious and beautiful to recognize at Easter and at Christmas how very much He has grown, and how much wider are the hosts that are about Him, and how many more persons He has claimed. The cross was not the ending for Him. It was only the beginning, and our Lord Christ is very much alive, so that we always include in addressing Him the term, Thou who art the Living Christ, because we consider that very important in rightly addressing this very great soul.
Of What Does an Ideal Awareness in Nature Consist?
308-2 Sunday 06/26/1966
The more an individual loves nature the better is it revealed that he is advancing. The more mature the soul the deeper will be his love for the out-of-doors and for the creatures. God has placed within man an awareness, sometimes it is only intuitional but that is enough, of another kingdom; a kingdom that serves the trees, the grasses, the winds, the storm and all the loveliness of nature. And the same intuition tells us that we can receive much from this other side of life if we are open to its inner perspective.
Why the Reality of Angels Is Vital to Our Age
314-2 Sunday 10/02/1966
Flower A. Newhouse beautifully describes the great Reality of Angels in today's world. She describes the various duties and responsibilities of the different types of Angels and stresses the important role They have in our everyday life. She shares what transpires between the Kindel Archangel and a soul who has passed into the inner realms, and the tough questions one has to face about how one lived on earth. Flower also describes various experiences she had with Angels from the time she was a child on into her adult life. This is a fascinating peek into a world most people aren't even aware exists.
Gratitude: A Quality of Spiritual Maturity
342-2 Sunday 11/19/1967
Before we celebrate the initiation of rebirth and regeneration or our Lord's holy birth in us, we know the cleansing and the benediction of gratitude. Our Lord always prefaced his requests by giving thanks before he spoke for the good that he sought. Give thanks before something happens to you, and live in the expectancy and the wonder of that for which you ask and that very likely which you need. Prayers would not have any importance, any power in them, unless they have been prefaced by this feeling of gratefulness. Giving thanks is an absolute spiritual necessity for us. The constant rhythm of gratitude causes the circulation of the powers of the Soul and the Adonai to seep into and penetrate our personality selves.
Emmanuel: God With Us
389-1 Sunday 04/06/1969
Easter celebrates our Lord's victory over death and evil. He is now a transformer that touches spiritual essence throughout all regions. He is the example of what it means to think and feel and live and aspire from the soul plane. Christ's mission is to release the Divine into our conscious knowing. Beings higher than ourselves in intelligence and unfoldment carry out the purposes of our Lord, which emphasise the four cornerstones of Christianity–love, faith, kindness and integrity. As you serve the Christ, the adventure you will know of becoming more universal and more cosmic in your appreciation will be the most wondrous spiritual adventure you have ever enjoyed. Christ will not finish His work until the whole planet and all of humanity of every century is brought to its highest degree of development.
The Incarnating Soul
392-2 Sunday 06/01/1969
Flower poses questions asked by parents of a new baby, 'Where do you come from? Why are you here? Why have you come to me? How may I best help you?' and then uses the teachings of the Christ to answer those questions about all incarnating souls. Describes evolution of humankind, varying according to primary ray, from earliest lives in Mongolia up to the present. Lists fourth wave lifetimes (composite nations, blending). Mentions cosmic evolution within Solar system. Explains how parents can help their child's soul grow and evolve.
Music is the Gateway into Divine Presence
396-1 Sunday 07/20/1969
Flower explains music as a path to higher consciousness. Most persons feel it on the astral; can be used to cleanse heavy emotions. Can step into mental bodies and be analytical. We can step into our soul bodies; this is harder to do; when we listen with our causal body, instead of the music being out there, and we observers, we are instead participators. On causal level we are one with everything we appreciate, and therefore when hearing great music it sounds through one. Describes thought forms, colors and archetypes seen while listening to musical excerpts. Describes inner music at transition to inner worlds.
Death: The Transformer
420-2 Sunday 05/31/1970
Flower describes how death gives purpose to life on earth. She states that death is a cleanser and the transformer. Explains what happens to an individual after death, and the purpose of reincarnating back into physical life. She describes the importance and difficulty of achieving detachment from loved ones and one's work on earth after making one's transition. This must be achieved soul advancement. She states importance of preparing oneself for death while still on the physical plane.
The Heart of Thanksgiving
443-1 Sunday 11/22/1970
By gratitude, we purify ourselves, we humble ourselves. In Thanksgiving, we can appreciate illumination of the festival of rebirth that comes at Christmas. Flower discusses the first Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims, and other traditions in ancient Rome, and the Jewish tradition. Thanksgiving is the most glorious expression we can ray forth from the highest consciousness within us. When we express gratitude, the highest fires of the soul are lighted in us and they shine out with blessing, when we are genuine and give a benediction to the giver.
The Mystical Experience
450-1 Sunday 02/21/1971
Mysticism is the practice of the art of Divine Union. It is the endeavor of the soul to draw nearer to God. For that reason it uses all of a man, and claims all of him. Of all the approaches to God, it is the only one that knows synthesis. Flower defines mysticism, gives many examples of mystical traits, behaviors, and examples of mystics in many fields of art, music, religion, literature.
After Death and Its Inner States
464-1 Sunday 05/30/1971
Flower describes what happens to an individual after death. She includes the assistance of the Angel of Death and the Guardian as the soul journeys the inner worlds. The astral and mental worlds are also described, as well as the length of time one stays in each level. She speaks of when the soul is ready to incarnate and the help from the Kindle Archangel. The future gestational period for an incoming soul will take place in a test tube. This will be to eliminate any inherited disease. Look forward to death and strive to deserve it in a manner that will bring it to you while you are in full consciousness and with great joy.
The World Mother's Influence on Earth
479-1 Sunday 11/14/1971
Explains the Greatness of Mary's Soul, her incarnation on Earth, and her Divine Work for humanity. Describes her great role in Christianity and Her present work on the inner planes which is that of comforting and expressing mercy, of living love, of raising the standard of femininity in the world. Indicates the importance of recognition of the divine feminine principle by religious faiths, and, explains that some faiths are more evolved in this area than others. Describes various personas of the Divine Mother that serve in Her Work, and who are recognized by religions. An example of this is Kwan Yin in China.
The Language of the Soul
484-1 Sunday 12/12/1971
The soul knows truth instantly. It is the shining vehicle; it is the vehicle that knows God. The soul gives us the courage, the vision, the genius , the know-how, for any task which we are given. All we need to do is keep in touch, keep attuned to the Higher Self. The soul is never wordy or superficial. Language of the soul is one of beauty, harmony, and great inspiration. Life lessons are impressed on us by soul. Soul intuits reality in every situation. Gifts of the soul are listed. Finishes with Questions and Answers. Talk given in Los Angeles.
Reinforcing Centeredness Within
486-2 Sunday 01/16/1972
States that centeredness is one of the cardinal qualities that each of us needs to attain; it is the means by which illumination comes. To be centered means that you are aligned to your real self, your soul. Gives examples of different approaches by which centeredness can be experienced anew. Reminds us that In spiritual living, faith needs to be ever fresh.; we must hunger for newness in our own approach. Describes Centering, a book by Mary Richards, as astonishing. Suggests having a symbol in your mind always that brings you as readily as possible to centeredness.
Just How Much Do You Want to Change This Lifetime?
525-1 Sunday 02/25/1973
Flower discusses choosing goals for life with a spiritual purpose. All failure is spiritual failure. Describes short-range goals and long-range goals, gifts to Christ at Christmas and goals for the New Year and Lent. Gifts to Christ must come from our Souls or they won't be successful. The Divine Indweller will help us keep our word. Discussion of the need to use our minds wisely and to allow the Soul to direct them. The Soul wants to bring forth the beauty of holiness in all that we do. Example of a teacher in Moorpark who inspired students to plant flowers and it inspired the whole town to beautify its grounds.
Spiritual Opportunities to Be Found in Friendship
536-1 Sunday 08/05/1973
Great friendship has no possessiveness or personal love, but is based on soul love. Our friends today may be family in the next life; as family there are obligations. Friendships have an ebb and flow of tides as persons move to other areas. Seven qualities needed for friendship: appreciation, affection, unselfish regard, mutual interests, adaptiveness, devotion and loyalty. Testings in friendship bring past karmic conditions to the surface. Poem by Virginia Stillman read by Peter Hein. Followed by Questions and Answers.
Contemplation: The Art of Spiritual Envisionment
549-2 Sunday 02/17/1974
In this talk the Rev. Flower A. Newhouse tells us that meditation is the most important thing we do and that contemplation, the very summit of our innermost practices, brings contact with the Supreme within and illumination. She speaks of being in the rarified atmosphere of the Divine where the soul exists and the flashes of inspiration which occur in that state. She describes how three layers of the alphabet came to her during contemplation and the use of them in names. Flower explains that we are aware of God when we cease to be aware of ourselves, and that vertical consciousness brings us into God's presence.
We Can Be Transformed
550-2 Sunday 03/03/1974
Lent ushers us into a new grade and is the season of Soul examination. Reference to Lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt because she looked back. Flower tells of her former heart condition and how she transcended it. Overcoming traits like selfishness require us to die to them; just praying isn't enough. Flower describes the experiences of Starr Daily and others that transformed their lives. Speaks of Phillips Brooks.
How to Strive for Wholeness
562-2 Sunday 08/25/1974
As a Christian it is our opportunity and our obligation to become more whole every day of our lives. In so doing we will have the greatest of adventures. We will almost treat ourselves as if the highest in us which is our soul self were observing the personality self at all times; urging it, blessing it, and encouraging it, to be without the blemishes which mean separateness and to come into the unity which means wholeness. Wholeness comes at the time of mastery.
Steps Toward the Real Self: The Soul
600-1 Sunday 02/08/1976
Flower Newhouse speaks about the soul, the personality self, the ego and the shadow self, and how eventually the outer personality is used by the soul as the personality surrenders more and more, the soul begins serving its selfhood and Divinity starts developing in us.
Insights the Soul Reveals to the Personality Self
600-2 Sunday 02/15/1976
Discusses the importance of the Soul self and Higher Triad, our Immortal Nature. Explains lower self (personality) and Dweller on the Threshold, or Shadow, and the conflict existing between these two parts; and the gradual process of loosening the influence the Shadow on the Personality Self. Also, gives beautiful explanations of how the Soul works in our lives.
Lessons Abraham Lincoln Exemplifies
626-1 Sunday 02/06/1977
Of all our American presidents, there has been only one who was a very great soul–what they call an Arahat or a 4th degree initiate–and this was Abraham Lincoln. In this life he was given to the cause of the conquest of slavery because he too had been a slave, the Grecian, Epictetus. The more we read about his life, the closer we come to the realization of a man who was in the makings of a Master, and we get a foretaste of what justice in a human mind can bring about.
Aristotle and His Contribution to Society
689-2 Sunday 08/19/1979
Flower highlights Plato, Aristotle and the initiates of the Golden Age of Greece, based on research by Dr. Mortimer Adler. Let us love and respect every great soul who gave his life to the enriching and the enlightening of men; who have shaken and challenged us until we were disgusted with our little selves and our indifference to the rules.
Understanding the Dark Night of the Soul
703-1 Sunday 02/24/1980
Extensive excerpts from Manly Hall's book, Dark Night of the Soul. Examples also from Guidepost book, The Unlimited Power of Prayer. The dark night of the soul is a testing time wherein we feel psychological pain, stress, confusion and suffering. Those times are difficult, but they are not impossible. So when you have a very serious form of testing, realize that a part of you is trying to be lifted up into a new level of being. Qualities needed include simplicity, humility, spiritual love, silence, spiritual disciplines.
The Wisdom Religion: The Deep and Inclusive Aspect of Christ's Religion
713-2 Sunday 07/20/1980
Wisdom religion exists and functions on soul level and contains all spiritual truth. Both exoteric and esoteric religions exist on earth. Christ taught inner teachings to the band of 70. The message of Christian orthodox churches pertains to our moral life. Exoteric religion began in Egypt in 3000 B.C. Apollo was god of shepherds. Athena was goddess of the home in Greece and Vesta in Rome. Polynesians and American Indians considered mountains as holy places. Scientology is a dangerous teaching.
The Cycle of Necessity: To Be Born on Earth
715-2 Sunday 08/17/1980
The plan of life is one that requires birth and death and return to birth and death many times. Flower describes reincarnation, explaining the purpose and need for this to aid our evolution. Defines karma as the law of causation, the law of action, the law of reaction and gives examples of karma as a mechanism for spiritual growth. Notes that with every overcoming our soul grows stronger. Lists three qualities that cause us to have either good or bad karma, according to the way we live them. Explains that we are all evolving toward masterhood.
The Awareness of the Real Self: The Soul
717-1 Sunday 09/07/1980
Above the mind is our real and True Self - the soul. This source of wisdom and strength is first contacted in states of higher consciousness and through intuition.
Gratitude: the Mark of an Old Soul
722-2 Sunday 11/23/1980
Gratitude expressed at Thanksgiving. Shares the story of Pilgrims and how Thanksgiving came to be a national holiday. It takes several days to develop a grateful attitude to properly celebrate Thanksgiving. We should keep a journal of items we are thankful for. We should be continuously thankful, not just for our material blessings, but for our spiritual teachings, and for the blessings of the Christ. To be truly grateful, we must see the good in testings. Includes the legend of three horsemen who were directed to gather pebbles which were turned into jewels. Hierarchy listen to our prayers of gratitude.
What Each of Us Needs to Contribute to His Own Healing
740-1 Sunday 07/26/1981
In this talk the Reverend Flower Newhouse explains that only Masters have complete command of Their bodies, and that illness comes to us when we allow a separation to come between us and our Souls or Higher Selves. She urges us to fill ourselves with humility, teachableness and surrender with the willingness to learn the way to health. She advises us to let our Soul be our director, healer, advisor and teacher and to never give ourselves credit for our healing which belongs to God who made us. Flower encourages exercise, following your doctor's advice, and never feeling guilty about being ill. It is our responsibility to admit that something is wrong, to go to a doctor and to surrender ourselves to God's care. Followed by Questions and Answers.
The Reality of Masters
782-1 Sunday 03/13/1983
Masters are far older than we are, in soul growth. They started their evolutionary journey before we did, and therefore they have achieved mastership. They are very close to humanity, their attention is never withdrawn from our planet. They tell us to watch the little things, it will be the little things that will trip you and delay your achievement of masterhood. Flower describes Masters, what they do, how they look and act, and their friendships with one another. They have divine creative humility, but are also very self-assured. They appear in age as that they liked best when they went through their incarnations on earth. Followed by questions and answers.
How to View Those Who Have Died
787-2 Sunday 05/29/1983
Anyone who has graduated deserves to give full attention to inner worlds. They are where they belong, enjoying themselves immensely.
