Baptism

Annointing Ceremony Invoking God's Blessing to a Soul

John the Baptist

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.
Matthew 3:11

Is Baptism important? If so, what benefits are gained from this sacrament?
Every spiritual commemoration is important. To invoke God's blessing for a child or adult is a very helpful act, indeed! This rite affects the higher vehicles of man, helping to strengthen the alignment of the spiritual bodies with the physical form. This attunement permits greater spiritual reception of the powers of protection, guidance, and enlightenment.

Ordinarily, a person who is baptized has stronger access to spiritual forces. Neither the denomination of religion, nor the type of ritualism used, conveys illumination to the finer bodies. It is the intent of the service and the consecration of the life to the love of God that causes spiritual energies to gather about the one receiving the rite.

The Inner Meaning of Baptism

The sacrament of baptism is glorious to behold superphysically. During baptism the great Angel of the Christ Presence transmits to the soul body the benediction of the Divine Host. With the invocation of the soul's name a brilliant white flash of Light comes to the individual, resting upon this one like a glorious shield to ward off evil and to hold the bodies in greater alignment.

The purpose of baptism is to accelerate our union with the indwelling Divine Presence. The individual is baptized with holy water that carries the cleansing life force, and oil that channels the gifts of the Spirit. Unlike christening, a rite for infants creating a link between the Inner World from which they have just come, and the Outer World, baptism should be requested when we believe we are capable of living devotedly as a conscious son or daughter of God.

Baptism symbolizes the encounter of our Lord with His cousin John from whom He received this rite, revealing spiritual maturity and indicating that the one baptized wants the responsibility of living from his Soul Self. After John baptized Him, Jesus went into the wilderness and prayed and meditated for 40 days. Flower transposed that time to ask people preparing for baptism to fast for 40 days of all negatives of consciousness prior to baptism and to sow in consciousness a Christing of the whole person in preparation for receiving spiritual vestments.

The Lord Christ said of baptism, Verily, verily (whenever we see two words used like that by our Lord, it means to pay great attention) I say unto you, except a man be born of water (referring to the astral world and a purified state of emotions) and of the Spirit (a spiritual nature) he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. All spiritual sacraments symbolize what we must achieve in consciousness, in deportment, in equipment, in talent, in utilization in every degree. The baptism service means the persons are endeavoring to place their lives under God's rule and that they are aware that God watches us and loves us at the same time. This can be requested at any age.
