Many of these works are published in the original format and wording as the year of their publication. We realize that inclusive language is not always present in those earlier years. As gifted and prophetic as she was, Flower A. Newhouse was also a product of her times, and inclusive language was not a part of the social consciousness then. Regardless of language, the substance of her work is inclusive. Her life and teachings were beautifully universal to all people, and if she were writing today her language would more accurately reflect this worldview.
