Summer Pilgrimage (2 of 3): The Soul
005-1 Saturday 06/26/1954
The soul that is active in us is dwelling in a wonderful world, a causal world of Light, a world of power and beauty and creativity such as we know nothing about in this dimension. In this second of three talks given during a Summer Pilgrimage Retreat focused on spiritual awareness, Flower describes the soul world, the soul's different faculties, and how it appears in our auras. She clarifies common misconceptions about the soul, describes lost souls, and speaks about the symbology in fairy tales.
The Power of Words
020-1 Sunday 03/20/1955
The discoveries of Count Alfred Korzybski, the founder of the Science of Semantics, on the use of words and their effect on others are explored by Flower as she reminds us that we are accountable for every word we utter. She shares how to speak according to the standards of spiritual truth, and in this way become a 'co-worker' with God for creating Good in our world.
Michaelmas: Feast of the Angels
030-2 Sunday 09/25/1955
Flower focuses on the importance of Angel awareness to Christians and urges us to acknowledge the Angels in our daily lives, not just at high occasions such as Michaelmas and Christmas. She cites several passages in the Bible where Angels are referenced and shares of great souls who were aware of Angel Presences, and the world religions that honor the Angels.
The Meaning and Right Uses of Causal Realities (4 of 5)
033-2 Sunday 10/23/1955
Flower provides rare glimpses into the soul. Example of Dr. Maurice Nicole and long quote from his book Living Time. The soul is the 'I' of us which is our character and is dormant until exercised. Our souls counsel us and we receive revelations or understanding. Description of the soul as it appears in the aura and its faculty to perceive, generate and redeem.
The Heart of Christmas
036-1 Sunday 12/25/1955
The more we worship Christ, the more He dominates the center of our consciousness, because we choose to be Christ-led, Christ-centered. The gift we give Him each year is our self; deepened, widened, opened more receptively, made more sympathetic, made more appreciative to His vast and eternal ministry.
Priestess of the Home
052-1 Sunday 05/13/1956
Focus on the Divine feminine aspect of God. Mother Light inspires women to their highest potential and encourages them to be priestesses of the home. Points out how men can overcome their lack respect for women and fear of femininity. Shares the lives and events of some significant 'priestess' women.
Being True to Ourselves
058-2 Sunday 10/07/1956
This inspiring talk encourages us to live from our God Indwelling rather than our personality selves. With several examples and esoteric insights of how we can accomplish this, Flower guides us to a higher way of living and viewing life around us.
Spiritual Discipleship (1 of 9): God
090-1 Friday 06/20/1958
Whenever we intone any of the Holy aspects of God we should do it through vertical consciousness, we should have the feeling that we are spiritually on tip-toe and that all of us is filled with eagerness to get into our intonement. And do not forget that our Lord said that the greatest commandment is 'Thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart and with all thy might.'
Spiritual Discipleship (2 of 9): Lord Christ
090-2 Saturday 06/21/1958
Our Lord Christ is the most influential individual that humanity has ever known or ever will know for all of earth's existence. There are Lords and Logi above Him, but as it concerns humanity, He is the highest that our own humanity has unfolded. He is the first flower, He is the full ripened fruit, and He is indeed the model and archetype of our own spiritual becoming.
The Path of the Masters
116-1 Sunday 08/23/1959
This talk illustrates the evolutionary path of perfection by introducing us to the existence and service of the great hierarchy of perfected beings known as Masters. One need not have direct contact with Them to become aware of Them. One needs only to be sensitively alert and receptive, and desirous of knowing Truth. Masters can reveal to us what we are in the process of becoming. These Great Souls have all the virtues of character raised to its highest strength. They have outgrown earth.
The Reality of the Christ Hierarchy
121-1 Sunday 12/13/1959
Emmanuel means God with us and it refers to the spiritual title given to this soul who also bore the name of Jesus when he became spiritually of age and took upon Himself the mantle of the Christ. We should call Him by the spiritual title. Our Lord was human, but He more quickly had the power of excellence, that supreme ability to surrender himself, and to give himself to that which is higher than anyone else that has evolved through the earth. There are many perfected souls; that option is open to all, and all are evolving toward it. Before the Lord Emmanuel, the Lord Maitreya was the Christ of our planet. Our Lord is the supreme officiant of humanity. Reading of Flower's favorite excerpts from the Gospel According to Thomas. Past lives of Jesus as Joshua, David, and Ikhnaton. Jesus as Lord and Master.
Man's Duty Regarding the Law of Evolution
154-1 Sunday 06/11/1961
This talk enlightens us to the esoteric interpretation of spiritual evolution beginning with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Flower explains how humanity is meant to evolve ever Godward, and the role karma has on our spiritual growth. She reveals two keywords to help us on our spiritual journey-acceptance and patience.
Adventures in Faith Class (19 of 21): Inner Peace through Faith
189-2 Wednesday 06/06/1962
Put God first. That is the shortcut to everything, and if you find yourself struggling it is because your mind is centered with the negativity. It is centered in your thought life instead of on God. This statement by Flower sums up this Wednesday evening class on faith. We are reminded that our purpose in life is to strive toward spiritual masterhood, and we do this through self-control and self-discipline, and by putting God before anything else in our lives. The lecture is followed by a question and answer period.
Living with Extra-Sensory Perception
201-1 Sunday 10/07/1962
Rev. Flower Newhouse explains that all persons possess a spiritual faculty within but few have trained themselves to bring it forth. Seeing spiritually is both a great opportunity and a Divine obligation so courage, responsibility, reverence, patience and perseverance are required. She addresses the priceless intangibles brought by group worship and changes in auras when one enters a place of worship. Saying she would not give up development of sight for anything, she describes a special blessing from the Lord of the Mountain at Frazier Mountain, seeing a deva temple, being summoned to Angelic strongholds and holy cities and the great wonder of seeing an single Angel and Angelic Hosts.
Determinism Versus Free Will
218-2 Sunday 03/24/1963
We have free will to choose how we respond to life's challenges. We have sown seeds in the past which result in the harvest we experience now. Examples are given to illustrate how we can transcend karma and make our lives meaningful. The message is given to live our lives to the very last moment with determination to grow and improve constantly-meeting every situation with love.
The Necessary Cultivation of Tranquility
224-2 Sunday 06/02/1963
An inspiring talk for anyone striving for inner peace. At the kernel of every soul that lives in this dimension and in God's country is a center where God is, and all peace rests upon this center and man's abiding within it. To have peace we should really think of a sunburst as from within us, raying out its flashing points of light into all of our aura, and we should stand still in the mystery and the wonder of that flashing of the star of our God Self. And whenever we are inclined to be the most disturbed, we should stop and practice this attunement to the star of our inner being.
Why We Are Here
237-2 Sunday 12/08/1963
Flower describes why we have an earthly existence and what our reason for being is. Simply put, we are here to recognize the Divine within each of us. She uses the analogy to our own human growth and evolvement of the lowly acorn and its unfoldment to becoming the mighty oak tree. She reminds us that our earthly home is only temporary and our true home is with God. This we should never forget.
273-1 Sunday 02/28/1965
Flower explains the restricting growth self-centeredness causes us in our personal evolution. Anyone who is selfish is a child who has not grown up into spiritual maturity. Flower shares examples of individuals who exemplified love and unselfishness. Love only wants to raise, to lift, and to help, love is kind and just. Love is gratitude in expression. Love is of God, and being of God it will bless the receiver as well as the possessor of this wondrous current. Let us remember all the days of our lives that we are to love, not as our personality self wants to love, not even as our higher self desires to love, but as our Lord loves.
Understanding the Seven Rays
298-2 Sunday 02/06/1966

She explains that we have 3 rays influencing our lives: our main ray, sub-ray and finally the ray that affects us on the physical level only-that of our zodiacal sign. All of these rays help to balance our personality selves.
Easter's Meaning for Us
303-1 Sunday 04/10/1966
The story of our Lord Christ is a continuing unfoldment. It is always glorious and beautiful to recognize at Easter and at Christmas how very much He has grown, and how much wider are the hosts that are about Him, and how many more persons He has claimed. The cross was not the ending for Him. It was only the beginning, and our Lord Christ is very much alive, so that we always include in addressing Him the term, Thou who art the Living Christ, because we consider that very important in rightly addressing this very great soul.
