Describes Maurice Nicoll's four states of consciousness of mankind: Sleep of dreams; awakening; self-observation; masterhood-the achievement of objective consciousness. Notes that we would not desire change if there were not current powers, gifts that would enable us to achieve these realizations. There are hosts of individuals who have gone the path of spiritual evolution, who have achieved wholeness. From these beings comes an eternal heritage to us. Their impacts are constantly challenging us to desire change until we ourselves have achieved Masterhood. Excerpts...

Next to our Guardians the Angel most watchful of man is the Angel of the Christ Presence. Angel line has three sexes, masculine, feminine and biune. Example of Peter in the Bible being freed from prison by a Protector Angel. Excerpts...
Studies in Greatness (3 of 3) (130-1 Sunday 5/29/1960)
In this third talk on 'greatness', Flower explains that before our evolution is finished, each of us must attain the spiritualizing of the will and self-surrender that characterizes true greatness. Excerpts...

Attaining spiritual realization is our supreme need and our highest gift if we can achieve it in this lifetime. Flower asks us to ponder where he or she can look for guidance in achieving this goal. She refers to the words in the Bible; various Christian religions, including Christian Science beliefs as well as Catholicism; and ultimately, urges us to seek higher knowledge that lifts us to a new level of spiritual exploration. One in which spiritual evolution will reveal the revelations of deeper teachings. She tells us that each of us can behold the gifts of divinity, if we are willing to make the journey. Excerpts...
Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (182-2 Sunday 4/15/1962)
Describes the events of Palm Sunday. Describes the purpose and need for many versions of Christianity, and that these are beneficial. Periodically the disciples reincarnate to rekindle the flames of Christianity. It isn't any book, any theology, any creed–it's the Living Christ, whom we worship. Early Christians knew the truth that men go on and finish their evolution and become perfected. For five minutes every day, we should meditate on what Christ means to us. Four ways the Christ influences the earth: regenerating nature, enlightening men, giving dynamic spiritual principles, and opening the gates to the inner kingdom. Excerpts...

Excerpts...
Three Routes of Progress (201-2 Sunday 10/14/1962)

Every person has a long history of life behind him, which has put him under many climates, races, and nations. Lists differeng life routes and civilizations taken by second, forth and sixth ray souls. Babylonia, China and Greece were major 'crossroads' incarnations, where persons of all rays meet about every fouth incarnation. Southern California is the 'Cradle of the New Race.' Excerpts...
The Staff of the Illumined (221-2 Sunday 4/21/1963)
Perfected souls came with powerful inspiration. Their words have been recorded down to our present day. They have a message for us which shall outlast this planet's lifetime. When we consider what a soul undergoes in the journey of evolution through this human way, we know that the human career begins at the stage of individualization. There is a long vast journey of growth and unfoldment, and then at last the first degree of initiation, or rebirth, is achieved. When this stage comes, man becomes a part of a larger order. He becomes a member of the Great White Brotherhood, and he serves no longer his own unfoldment, but the development of the world. Then there is a later stage, of the fifth initiation, when the human evolution ceases, and the superhuman evolution begins. Excerpts...
Initiation: The Perfecting of Man (226-1 Sunday 6/23/1963)
Flower explains the spiritual evolution of man, and how we humans eventually evolve to Lordship through the degrees of initiation. She describes each degree of initiation and gives examples of those who have aspired to each level, beginning with first-degree initiates, such as Walt Whitman, all the way up to sixth-degree initiates, which is the level of our Lord Christ. Excerpts...
Evolution and the Bible (236-1 Sunday 11/17/1963)
Flower explains the esoteric perspective of human creation in relation to the Bible story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and the scientific theory of evolution. Flower shares that both science and religion contain truth in their diverse theories on evolution. Science tells us that all life is evolving, that it is unfinished as yet. That is true for the physical side. Religion tells us that man was made in God's image, and that is true, but the two persons are different. Religion speaks of the inner man and science speaks of the outer one. They are not speaking of the same aspect, and if we understand that we can better realize how they can come into agreement at some time in the future. Excerpts...
The Great Path and How We Are Related to It (245-2 Sunday 4/5/1964)
Regarding the purpose of life, Flower tells us that man incarnates on earth in order to find God here. She then recounts various states and conditions of human evolution along the upward Path, including testings or minor initiations of the four elements. Discusses alchemical transformations of the spirit, then describes qualities of each of the major degrees of initiation. Concludes with audience questions and answers. Excerpts...
Eliminating Self-Centeredness (273-1 Sunday 2/28/1965)
Flower explains the restricting growth self-centeredness causes us in our personal evolution. Anyone who is selfish is a child who has not grown up into spiritual maturity. Flower shares examples of individuals who exemplified love and unselfishness. Love only wants to raise, to lift, and to help, love is kind and just. Love is gratitude in expression. Love is of God, and being of God it will bless the receiver as well as the possessor of this wondrous current. Let us remember all the days of our lives that we are to love, not as our personality self wants to love, not even as our higher self desires to love, but as our Lord loves. Excerpts...
The Art of Cultivating and Controlling Thought Power (382-2 Sunday 2/16/1969)
Let this vine be in you, which was, and is, in Christ Jesus. This is the goal of evolution. This is our innermost aim to come to that state of consciousness wherein the highest in us thinks through us and uses us as its channels. Flower describes how meditation can help us refine our mental body, and emphasizes the importance of choosing our thoughts, words, activities, and relationships from a higher level. If we do this, you can be that one in your field of service that lifts the whole atmosphere into a more wholesome place in which to function, wherein greater brotherhood or sisterhood is realized, where thoughts of a constructive order are given precedence over discord. Excerpts...
The Incarnating Soul (392-2 Sunday 6/1/1969)
Flower poses questions asked by parents of a new baby, 'Where do you come from? Why are you here? Why have you come to me? How may I best help you?' and then uses the teachings of the Christ to answer those questions about all incarnating souls. Describes evolution of humankind, varying according to primary ray, from earliest lives in Mongolia up to the present. Lists fourth wave lifetimes (composite nations, blending). Mentions cosmic evolution within Solar system. Explains how parents can help their child's soul grow and evolve. Excerpts...
Christ's Past Present and Future Influence upon Us (528-2 Sunday 4/22/1973)
What a day Easter signifies. Only our intuition can tell us of some of its meanings. Most of them go way beyond our comprehension. We realize that something mighty took place which Easter commemorates which will cause us to be indebted to that one who made it possible for all of our evolution. Excerpts...

Christian Mysticism is simply a method of reverence and devotion to God. It is a path of attainment which leads to the Divine Reality–to first-hand knowing of God. The mystical path stresses the way of Divine union with God through illumination.
The Living Christ is the Lord of Angels and of men and the model of our own becoming. His service is the broadcasting of the Divine Christ Spirit, the light of redemption. His influence awakens in us the Christing of our own natures.
The Way of Discipleship is a way of drawing ever closer to the Divine Presence. It is a voluntary surrender of the entire self to the service of God. It pays great attention to spiritual realities and goals inspiring us toward inner growth.
Meditation and Prayer are the disciplines that most directly draw us Godward and into the inner worlds. During these moments, we consciously purify ourselves of worldly or personal preoccupations and center ourselves wholly upon consciousness of God.
The Angelic Kingdom consists of beings created by God. They, like mankind, press toward the goal of perfection and union with the Supreme Spirit. Angels are purer and more spiritual than man. Their very spirituality readily makes them mediators between Heaven and Earth.
Nature provides healing and enlightenment. When wisely trod, the path to God through nature employs every faculty inherent in man. In nature, beauty shines in all its pristine essence before us. It is for us to newly discover and translate this beauty to our spirits and our senses.
Reincarnation is the realization that life is a school, striving to awaken and quicken the Divinity within us, striving to bring man from primitive stages of unfoldment to that of greater and more glorious awareness.
The life and writings of Flower A. Newhouse are those of a Christian mystic, and her insights into the inner realms of life provide us with a path to wholeness that she called "Living the Life." These teachings are not doctrine, but a practical guide to the direct, immediate experience of God. Flower's mission was also to reawaken humanity to the reality of angels, a work she began with her first book in 1937, and added to in many published writings and in recorded lectures.
