Julie Hilt, Special Guest Speaker

Julie Hilt discovered the Reverend Flower A. Newhouse through the work of Edgar Cayce. At the time, Julie served as West Coast Director for the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E), the organization founded by Edgar Cayce in 1931. Although a lifelong student of metaphysics, Julie always felt something was missing in her spiritual quest. It was not until Flower introduced her to the Christ and made Him come alive that Julie finally found what she had unknowingly been searching for…the living Christ. Julie is the Executive Director of the Solano County Bar Association, and also serves as President of the Board for Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center in Vacaville.

Like the Reverend Flower A Newhouse, Edgar Cayce left us a fine body of work from which to draw direction, inspiration, and strength towards our goal of ever deepening character. Flower Newhouse and Edgar Cayce taught that character and consciousness are the only things we take with us when we leave this plane of existence. A deeper understanding of Edgar Cayce and the parallels between his work and the work of the Reverend Flower A. Newhouse will undoubtedly enrich the mind and illume the soul.

Jan 28: The Power of Sacred Geometry
Preparing for the Golden Age of Enlightenment

New Zealand Artist and Cosmologist, Jonathan Quintin, presents a Multi-Media, Multi-Dimensional, Multi-Experiential program on sacred geometry on Saturday, January 28th from 6:30pm to 9:00pm in the Church of the Holy Quest.

This time on Earth is unlike any other. A new world is being born. The principles of sacred geometry provide a means to move with these changes, unlock our potential, and open us to the oneness of all things.

Take an interdimensional journey through the inner workings of nature and experience the profound order and sublime beauty that exists on the archetypal planes. Sacred geometry is the morphogenic structure behind reality. It demonstrates the laws of creation through geometric shapes, forms and patterns.

The presentation includes an experience of Mandala Magic which involves a process of radiant and reflective color to help activate the pineal gland (third eye) and experience states of higher consciousness and the integration of mind-body-spirit.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation while Jonathan is available for discussion and viewing of his artwork.

A New Year is Upon Us
January 2012

The fragrance of the blooming white Ceanothus ushers in a beautiful blessing for the New Year. I cannot remember a time when the hillsides were covered with such abundance. Even the blooming ornamental pear next to the church offers its fullest white splendor. It is as if the Holy Spirit is trying to express Flower's words by saying, God is the grand theme, the Divine undercurrent and Holy overtones of life itself. What a wonderful keynote to carry forth into 2012—learning to look to God for all provision. It comes in the realization that all the good we have ever known comes from the Source of all life. All the good we long to be lies within the surrendering of self-will over to God's will.

May this year reveal God's theme for you in ever deepening ways and give you the means to live a life in harmony with it.

New Vistas for the Year Ahead

Greetings, Friend,

Eventful 2011 has just completed its cycle. Have you thoughtfully considered what you expect of 2012, and especially, what you will add to it? The New Year will be what you make it either through directed or errant living. We believe that it is possible to plan the general course of this year in such a manner that the utmost will be extracted from its days. Because of this belief that events follow one’s conscious or careless inclinations, we are drafting an outline of the unfoldments we desire in 2012. Will you join us in reviewing this diagram daily until we have memorized it? Our earnest prayer is that all of us shall persevere in making this plan come true in ourselves so that when another year reveals itself we can meet it with the joyful realization that we have grown much and gained much. What is needed is not only sincere devotion to these exercises, but perfect performance of them.

The Blueprint of 2012

1. Aspire to make this year one of consecration.
2. Observe Sundays and sacred holidays according to their special intention.
3. Do something particularly difficult, such as releasing a harbored grievance, achieving reconciliation with one from whom you have been separated through misunderstanding, or accept some responsibility which you have evaded because of timidity, selfishness or indolence.
4. Concentrate upon the overcoming of at least one binding habit.
5. Give special attention to the cultivation of a specific quality necessary to your well-rounded character development.
6. To train and strengthen the will, as well as to fortify our adaptability and versatility, let us do these things:
   • Arise before sunrise at least once during 2012 to pray in nature. "And in the morning rising up a great while before day, He went out, and departed into a solitary place and there prayed."
   • Be steadfast in having your daily meditations and learn how to draw nearer to Christ in contemplation. "He that loveth Me keepeth My commandments . . .and I will manifest Myself to him."
   • Increase the health and flexibility of the body by eating more wisely and learning some sport or attending a gym regularly.
   • Make it a point to increase your cultural tastes in music, the arts and literature.
   • To these suggestions, add your own ideas, but see to it that you do not overestimate your strength or interest in these unfoldments. Far better for us to have only a few exercises to which we adhere, than many disciplines that receive but superficial attention.

These are the paths we will strive to follow during the engrossing year of 2012. At the end of its cycle, may we honestly be able to find that fidelity and application have opened new vistas to us.

Ongoing Activities

Finding Your True North Classes are held each Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Academy. These classes are designed to help us find ways into God's Presence, using Flower A. Newhouse's western approach to meditation. Early lessons were posted online at questhaven.org/findtruenorth.

Wisdom Classes are led by Rev. Blake Isaac and held on alternating Tuesdays, at 7:30 p.m. in Chapelito.

Study Christward Principles on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Questhaven Academy.

Pranic Healing Clinics are conducted on the first Sunday of each month in the Questahven Academy from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Servers in Action Days are on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. until noon. This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and service to Questhaven.
