Through the automatic shifting of our mental gears into higher stages of consciousness, we find ourselves finally at the stage of contemplation. This does not always take place because we are not always reverent enough to achieve it. Contemplation includes realization, but more than anything else it leads to adoration.

Contemplation is considered by many to be the highest use of the mind. It combines the alertness of concentration, with the idealization of meditation. The achievement of adoration is the unique gift of true contemplation.
In this stage our attention is immersed in recognition of Realities in which we are attuned. We sense the still, magnetic Presence of the Eternal enfolding Its creation. We are conscious of Meanings, Energies, and Urges which are natural at this elevation. Here we gain glimpses of purposes and importances that ordinarily escape our appreciation. We come close to the inner synthesis of all divergent paths and methods.

Contemplation realizes, appreciates, and contacts Ultimates—not only those which are upon our level of understanding, but also those higher plane Ultimates we intuitively beheld.
Only when our minds are capable of contact with Reality shall we fully appreciate the protective armor of meditation. The practice of meditation will not only shield us from negligent use of our mental faculties by awakening the full powers of the mind, but it will be our individual bridge of communion with the Everlasting.

We will also work with the ministers of Questhaven to answer the questions or find responses from Flower to them. |

In remembrance of the eternal shores of your true homeland, you will draw into your breath the very fire of inward quickening.
Questions and answers with Flower A. Newhouse (excerpted from Here Are Your Answers, Volumes I, II and III)
![]() | In making our call in meditation do we address the Father, the Lord, or the Guardian Principle or Divinity? |
![]() | In the beginning of every silent meditative period, send forth a glad call to the Eternal. It is so good to be able to go Home, even for a few moments! As your thoughts calmly turn from the outer to the inner world, soar into communion with a joyful salutation such as, "I greet Thee, Eternal Parent; Beloved Lord; Blessed Guardian." Address the Eternal as though you stood on a high cliff with arms out-flung to the earth and the heavens. By degrees you will be included in the silence of the Infinite. Then your meditation really begins. I find it well to salute the Eternal at the start and close of my silent periods. |

The life and writings of Flower A. Newhouse are those of a Christian mystic, and her insights into the inner realms of life provide us with a path to wholeness that she called "Living the Life." These teachings are not doctrine, but a practical guide to the direct, immediate experience of God. Flower's mission was also to reawaken humanity to the reality of angels, a work she began with her first book in 1937, and added to in many published writings and in recorded lectures.
