At the beginning of the year many of us made great vows for the things we hoped to accomplish throughout the year. We planted the seeds for those accomplishments, but how well did we cultivate and nurture them? It is time now to harvest the crops from those seeds. Will they be worthy to offer the Christ? We can still make a dedicated effort to bring about the desired changes and growth that we hoped for. This is a worthy effort, for as Flower Newhouse stated, ''All self-disciplines and purifications which man undergoes are for the express purpose of preparing him to realize God.

''Be still and know that I am God'' -Psalms 46:10. This is a beautiful invitation and promise. The Inner Journey of stillness is an ever ongoing endeavor. When in stillness, in silence, or at peace, one is in a state of teachableness. It leads to ever deepening centeredness. There, close to the heart of God, one can find ones strengths, answers to ones questions, better balance, and healing. According to Rev. Flower A. Newhouse and other mystics, when a person decides to submit him or herself to the powerful guidance of ''going within,'' - that is when one begins to really be alive.
