"An Angelic ministration takes place in a church not usually present in other places." -Flower A. Newhouse, "Here Are Your Answers, Vol III"

Retreat Activities

Worship, Retreats, Workshops, Art, Dance, Nature, Prayer

Sunday Services

Devotional Services are held each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Quest. Worship begins with music performed by our voice choir, guided meditation and prayer and is followed by an inspirational spoken message.

Major Retreats

Major Retreats are held annually during the holy festivals of Christmas, Easter, Michaelmas, and the summer equinox. These 3-day festivals include devotional services and activities honoring the Living Christ and celebrating the Angelic and Nature Kingdoms. Friday night's service typically includes handbell and voice choirs, sacred dance, communion, and an inspirational spoken message. Saturday's offerings may feature a guided meditation, artistic program or workshop, nature walk, and fellowship. The retreat concludes Sunday morning with inspirational spoken word, music and sacred dance.

Personal Retreats

Personal Retreats can be scheduled for sincere seekers to experience communion with God, spiritual renewal, and to study and worship with us. Questhaven offers a beautiful, quiet setting and an atmosphere of devotion that lifts retreatants into the Presence of the Eternal. Come prepared to explore your own retreat program. You can use your hours purposefully by attending regular meditation and prayer periods, studying, and taking nature walks on numerous trails in the peace and privacy of these consecrated grounds. Questhaven's ministers are happy to join in fellowship with retreatants to explore together the teachings of Christian mysticism.

Academy Workshops

Academy Workshops offer many opportunities to learn more about the way of Christian mysticism, discipleship, finding God in nature, healing, meditation, prayer, and the arts. Each year there are new and expanded classes and workshops conducted at the new Academy Training Center. Questhaven Academy has existed in its formative stage since the founding of Questhaven Retreat in 1940. It is wholly dedicated to the purpose of preparing and training individuals to follow the way of discipleship to Christ.

Artistic Expression

Artistic Expression in the form of sacred dance, visual arts, music and writing is encouraged at Questhaven to enrich the worship experience and understanding of spiritual creativity. Questhaven artists create and discover images of beauty and the sacred in nature, providing glimpses into inner landscapes and making soul connections with representatives of the Angelic Kingdom. The power of great music opens sensitivities into the Inner worlds. Questhaven voice and handbell choirs ring out their joyous praises to God. Through creative movement the sacred dancers glorify God, as have temple dancers from ages past. Our offering reflects that of the Angels as they continually praise God though this universal language of light and power.

Prayer & Healing

Prayer Work for world and individual circumstances is practiced here. We invite you to join us in linking with other "pray-ers" to form a beautiful chain of energy encircling the world, blessing and transforming world circumstances, and to pray for individuals in need of healing and guidance. If you desire prayers for healing or guidance and would like to be added to our weekly prayer list, please contact us.

Ministry Services

Ministry Services are available for Weddings, Christenings, Memorials and other activities in addition to the regular Sunday Services and Workshops. The ministry at Questhaven Retreat focuses on each individual's relationship with God and our Lord Christ. Sunday services aim to enlighten our inner senses and strengthen our character to the purpose of our existence. Not only do the ministers speak regularly and organize workshops, they offer a number of services for The Christward Ministry along with many other dedicated souls in the congregation.

Labyrinth Walks

Walk our labyrinth, an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness, a metaphor for life's purposeful journey, an archetype with which we can have a direct experience with God. Bring to mind a prayer or spiritual question to contemplate during the walk to the center. Reaching the center, pause to reflect, pray, listen for an answer or for deeper revelation. Now begin the return journey. Pray or reflect further. Upon exiting, use further reflection, prayer, or journaling to absorb the experience.

Questhaven Retreat is the home of The Christward Ministry. Spiritual seekers from around the world come year-round to this coastal wilderness near San Diego for worship, study and renewal. Mystical and esoteric interpretations of Christianity form the basis of this work. Sunday Services 10:45am.

Special Guest Speaker: Julie Hilt Learn More...

Julie Hilt discovered the Reverend Flower A. Newhouse through the work of Edgar Cayce. At the time, Julie served as West Coast Director for the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E), the organization founded by Edgar Cayce in 1931. Although a lifelong student of metaphysics, Julie always felt something was missing in her spiritual quest. It was not until Flower introduced her to the Christ and made Him come alive that Julie finally found what she had unknowingly been searching for…the living Christ. Julie is the Executive Director of the Solano County Bar Association, and also serves as President of the Board for Unity of the Valley Spiritual Center in Vacaville.

Like the Reverend Flower A Newhouse, Edgar Cayce left us a fine body of work from which to draw direction, inspiration, and strength towards our goal of ever deepening character. Flower Newhouse and Edgar Cayce taught that character and consciousness are the only things we take with us when we leave this plane of existence. A deeper understanding of Edgar Cayce and the parallels between his work and the work of the Reverend Flower A. Newhouse will undoubtedly enrich the mind and illume the soul.
